Where gemology becomes fine art.
VVSGallery was founded by a gemologist with more than 18 years of experience working closely with diamonds and precious stones. What began during the pandemic as a personal exploration of how a diamond could be translated onto canvas evolved into a dedicated fine-art practice shaped by precision, patience and an intimate understanding of gemstones.
Every VVSGallery artwork is 100% hand-painted in oil. There are no prints, digital reproductions or shortcuts. Each work is developed through multiple layers of paint, with attention given to color, reflection, edge definition, depth and the optical character that gives a diamond its presence.
The process is intentionally slow. Layers are allowed to dry naturally before the next stage begins, and completed works may rest for months before final finishing and sealing. In selected pieces, even the backing is custom-cut to echo the geometry of real diamond shapes, extending the concept beyond the painted surface.
The result is a body of work that exists between two disciplines: the technical precision of gemology and the permanence of traditional oil painting. Each painting studies light, proportion, color and form through the visual language of the diamond.
VVSGallery is not simply painting diamonds. It is reimagining the diamond in oil — permanently, individually and entirely by hand.
A Modern Approach to Fine Art
VVSGallery approaches painting differently. I see my role as a conductor — bringing together carefully selected artists and directing their individual strengths toward a single work.
Every artist has a different hand. One may have exceptional control of straight lines and precise edges, while another understands yellow tones, subtle gradients, reflections or fine detailing particularly well. Rather than asking one person to master every element, I bring together the finest skills of different artists and use the best of each person to create something as close to perfection as possible.
My background as a gemologist is an essential part of this process. An artist can paint beautifully, but a diamond has its own geometry. Its facets, angles, proportions, reflections and interaction with light must make sense. I provide that direction — translating the technical language of diamonds into instructions the artists can bring to life in oil.
It is a modern way of creating art: more than one mind, more than one hand, but one vision.
Each VVSGallery painting is therefore not defined by a single painter. It is the result of specialized artistic skills brought together under one direction — much like an orchestra, where different talents contribute to one final composition.
